My Story

I am a game designer, CompTIA Security+ certified cybersecurity professional, and community-focused entrepreneur based in Kansas City, Missouri. My work sits at the intersection of technology, storytelling, and real-world impact, guided by a core belief that games—when designed with intention—can bring people together and strengthen communities.

I am the founder of The Phoenix Collective, a creative studio and innovation group built around the idea that gamification is more than entertainment. Games are systems—capable of aligning incentives, encouraging collaboration, and turning everyday participation into meaningful action. This philosophy led to the creation of The Balance Project, an augmented reality MMO that transforms cities into interactive spaces where players are rewarded for exploration, wellness, learning, and supporting locally owned businesses. My goal is to use play as a bridge between the digital and physical world.

My technical background is rooted in cybersecurity and digital defense. I hold the CompTIA Security+ certification and have trained extensively in governance, risk management, and compliance, with hands-on experience in IT service desk support, network security, project coordination, and end-user cybersecurity education. My interest in ethical hacking began during the COVID-19 pandemic—initially inspired by games like Watch Dogs—and evolved into a practical discipline focused on protecting systems, people, and ideas in an increasingly connected world.

Professionally, I’ve worked across medical technology, telecommunications, logistics, and business development—experiences that shaped my adaptability and leadership style. Through Pro X, a Kansas City–based internship program, I’ve mentored young creatives in game design and digital storytelling, reinforcing my commitment to education, access, and developing future innovators.

At the heart of my work is a long-term perspective. I believe technology should empower rather than isolate, and that thoughtfully designed games can encourage cooperation, strengthen local economies, and foster a stronger sense of belonging. Whether I’m building immersive experiences, contributing to cybersecurity initiatives, or leading creative teams, my focus remains the same:

to create meaningful systems that connect people—and help restore balance between the digital and physical world.
